Dress Code
It’s important for students abide by a dress code policy for the following reasons:
- A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, teacher, and the art of dance.
- Teachers must be able to see the dancer’s body outline clearly in order to make proper corrections on posture, alignment, etc.
- Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face and neck for all styles of dance.
- Jewelry must not be loose or dangling.
- Gum chewing is not allowed due to danger of choking.
- No loose fitting pants, blue jeans or t-shirts (excludes Hip-Hop).
- No costumes are allowed in class unless a dress up day is announced by the individual teacher.
Attire
Tiny: Pink or black, short-sleeve leotard, ballet pink Capezio transition tights, pink Capezio Daisy full-sole ballet shoes, and Capezio black Jr. Tyette tap shoes.
Mini: Pink or black, short-sleeve leotard, ballet pink Capezio transition tights, pink Capezio Daisy full-sole ballet shoes, and Capezio black Jr. Tyette tap shoes.
Petite: Black, short-sleeve leotard, Team Basic Foldover Shorts, ballet pink Capezio transition tights, ballet pink Capezio Daisy full-sole leather ballet shoes, ‘E-Series’ Slip-On Caramel Jazz shoe, and Capezio Mary Jane Buckle Strap Caramel tap shoes.
Junior/Teen Females:
All classes may wear the Bloch gathered tank leotard listed in black or may choose any solid color leotard from the Discount Dance Supply website.
- Ballet: Capezio ballet pink transition tights. Dancers may choose from Capezio “Hanami” or “Juliet” Split Sole Leather or canvas Ballet Slippers. Males: choose black.
- Jazz: Capezio ballet pink or Caramel tight and E-series slip on Jazz Shoes in Caramel. Males: Order Black E-Series slip on Jazz Shoes.
- Tap: Capezio ballet pink or Caramel tights and Capezio Fluid Lace Up Tap Shoes in Caramel. Males: Order Black Capezio Fluid Lace Up Tap Shoes.
- AcroDance: Solid color Leotard listed, or you may choose any solid color leotard from the discount dance supply website and Capezio Girls Team Basic Foldover Shorts.
- Hip Hop: Solid color Leotard listed, or you may choose any solid color leotard from the discount dance supply website. Theatrical Ankle Leggings may be worn with leotards. Shoes are Converse black high tops with black soles for all dancers. Available at Famous Footware and Kohl’s.
Junior/Teen Males (for all classes): Theatrical V-Front Boot Cut Dance Pant and Black Augusta Sportswear Boys Heather Short Sleeve Training Tee.
Teen Females:
All classes may wear the Leotards listed for you or may choose any solid color leotard from the discount dance supply website.
- Ballet: Capezio ballet pink transition tights and either the Bullet Pointe Women’s Short Pull-On Ballet Skirt or Theatricals Adult Sheer Wrap Skirt. Dancers may choose from Capezio “Hanami” or “Juliet” Split Sole Leather or canvas Ballet Slippers. Males: Order Black.
- Jazz: Capezio ballet pink or Caramel tight and E-series slip on Jazz Shoes in Caramel. Theatrical V-cut Shorts or Ankle Leggings may be worn with leotards. Males: Order Black E-Series slip on Jazz Shoes.
- Tap: Capezio ballet pink or Caramel tights and Capezio Jason Samuel Smith Lace Up Tap Shoes in White. Theatrical V-cut Shorts or Ankle Leggings may be worn with leotards. Males: Also Order White Jason Samuel Smith Tap Shoes.
